I saw a rainbow today on Marriottsville. Tried to take a drive-by photograph, but it didn't really turn out...
In the world of MASH I will marry Christian Bale, have 6 children, live in Narnia, be a ring-keeper, and drive chitty chitty bang bang. A good life, I think.
Things I need to do very soon:
1. Visit Brittany, because she is one of my favorite friends and needs to be reminded of that fact.
2. Get a new job, even though the bookstore is hiring some very cool people at the moment. And I hate that I have to leave.
3. Go visit RC in Berkeley Springs. Maybe see the famous George Washington's bathtub, that I've already seen. But it never really loses its appeal.
4. Visit Richie and his little rustic house, see where he works and the little creepy old man that spies on him. Get attacked by chiggers and other living things. Go to Maryland heights and enjoy the wonderful view.
5. Harpers Ferry for a picture-taking day.
6. Spend lots of time with my dad, just because.

I am a groundbreaker, naive enough to believe this.
To laugh often and love much.
To win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children.
To earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends.
To appreciate beauty.
To find the best in others.
To give of one's self.
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition.
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation.
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

I've never been to England, but I kind of like the Beatles...
So I got new strings for my guitar today. And I realized something. You need to prepare yourself to walk into a music store, because inevitably someone always wants to make conversation. It's just a fact. The guy at Sam Goody the other day informed me that I was buying "the ultimate mellow cd collection". And then proceeded to tell me about his roomate who is obsessed with the Shins and was really happy when The Garden State soundtrack made them popular. They were in that soundtrack? Guess so. I wasn't aware/didn't notice. Apparently his roomate was also into Avril Lavigne when she was still an underground act. Not that I was buying her cd... I actually don't know how she came up in the conversation. But she did.
The guy in Record and Tape Traders felt the need to inform me about Mr. Rogers being involved in some shady business...I don't remember really. Sniper? I have no idea. Something about a tattoo. Anyways, Mr. Rogers always kind of creeped me out. But apparently my friend had heard about it and she and the guy talked/flirted for awhile about this. She is the queen of trivial knowledge, and he seemed to dig it.
So I like quirky conversation. It's better than the usual 'wow...it's really...hot out today...'. But somehow, normal questions throw me off... Why am I so awkward?
Today, at Jams music store:
Rather good looking guitar guy- "So what kind of music do you play?"
Me-"Um...folk, I guess..."
Guy-"Oh yeah? What kind of bands are you into?"
Me-"Uh..." *racking my brain to think of at least one band out of my 1765 favorites so I can appear halfway intelligent* "Well...I like a LOT."
I don't know why I do this.
Anyways...
So I knew Elijah Wood was in the Cranberries 'Ridiculous Thoughts' video, but apparently he was also in Paula Abdul's 'Forever Your Girl'. Weird.
Yeah I don't have anything else interesting to say. Not at the moment at least.
Favorite cd: Cassadaga. so so good.

Raise your hand if your brother's a homo!
Okay, sooo apparently I've been "tagged" which means I have to list 8 random things about myself.. But if you expect me to get all down and dirty...not gonna happen. Haha. Okay...let's see.
1. I have a hard time making up my mind when it comes to the future, but I think it's just because there are a lot of things I could see myself doing.
2. Ever since I was little I've wanted to be in a band. Or maybe now I just want to date a musician. Bottom line, music is so so very important to me.
3. Although I usually make up excuses not to, I can actually cook very well. Shhh...
4. I used to have a big crush on Eliott from E.T.
5. I'm obsessed with the Brothers Grimm fairytales.
6. Sometimes I'll watch a movie just because there's a cute boy in it.
7. When I'm in my car alone, I play music obnoxiously loud.
8. I hate girls who complain about guys being pigs and not taking them seriously, and then go out dressed like a hooker. If I was a guy, I wouldn't take you seriously either.
So there are a lot more things I could say, but I think those will do for now.
K, I was bored tonight and I took this survey, and it was actually kind of fun. Weirdly sexual in parts, but fun. And it eliminated my boredom for a few minutes, which was nice of it. So here are my results:
*** THE EVERYTHING TEST ***
There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.
Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)
PERSONALITY
You are more emotional than logical, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more religious than atheist, more loner than dependent, more workaholic than lazy, more traditional than rebel, more artistic mind than engineering mind, more idealist than cynical, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted. As for specific personality traits, you are adventurous (100%), religious (93%), innovative (64%), artistic (62%).
STEREOTYPES
Emo Kid (89%)College Student (82%)Young Professional (70%)
LIFE EXPERIENCE
Sex (0%)Substances (0%)Travel (18%)
POLITICS
Your political views would best be described as Conservative, whom you agree with around 64% of the time.
SOCIOECONOMIC
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Middle Class. You make more than 45% of those who have taken this test, and 77% less than the U.S. average.
If your life was a movie, it would be rated G. By the way, your hottness rank is 64%, hotter than 65% of other test takers.

Haha, that's really sad that my life would be rated G. I don't think I'm THAT much of a girl scout..
And I am not emo! Oh how I wish that word had never come into existence. I hear it waaay too much. haha.
Mother's Day = So much fun.
My mom, Missy, and I quoting Just Friends all through dinner at Sabatino's.
Retelling of the infamous Manicotti story where everyone laughed a lot at my expense.
Bet on the waiters name. I thought he looked like a Nick. His name was Greg. So NOT Italian.
So this Saturday I'm actually going to Medieval Times. I'm officially a nerd!

Gone and still to come
What a gorgeous day... Too bad I have to be stuck inside writing papers. And I get easily distracted..
Take a step closer
And grace this sullen place
Look upon it with wide eyes
And with your gentle face
You find the waters run like ice
And the air, it's far too thin
So warm it with your laugh
And tame it with your grin
Please don't wake me from this moment
Hold the dance of a single flame
Let me dream of it forever
Because what is real is not the same
Lonliness can't find us
Love will always win
The past now paints a picture
And you hold me once again
Close my eyes just to remember
All the lovely words you say
Now lift me higher as I sleep
And lead me far away.

An address to the golden door
So I'm watching the Gilmore Girls and it's the Shins episode. And now I have "So Says I" stuck in my head. But it's one of my favorites, so I don't really mind it being stuck.
Something I do mind? Not having a mac. It is so sad. I hate hate hate my computer. I can't work like this. I just saw a British mac commerical, and you know what? They are just as great as ours. The two guys were in boxes, and the mac was like 'K, I'm all ready to go!' and the PC was like 'Well I'm not; first I have to download some things, and read this 1000 page manual, and then install this virus software, and blah blah blah'... Life is too short to own a PC.
Shopping List:
A macbook.
Nikons are the best.
Coolest headphones ever.
And one of these, please. Yummy.

I'm going to go make out in the coat room; don't eat my chicken.
I should so be doing lots of other things right now, but instead...I am blogging. I am offically a nerd! hooray for me, hold your fanfare, please. *sigh* I sense it is the beginning of the end for me. And now I have yet another internet addiction. *cough myspace, facebook, lastfm*
So I just wrote a one page mini-essay on why I wish to do mutiple personality disorder for my final paper in psych. And it sucked because I couldn't just say "Ummm because it's really creepy and awesome". I actually had to make up like...a real reason. But I think I did okay. Never underestimate the power of bs...
I get to sell a photo of mine for 80 dollars. I think that's pretty wonderful. If no one buys it I'll be sad. So someone needs to come buy it! NOW! *angry mean face* It's of a fan and some dried flowers. It's called..."Fan and Flowers". I know, it's pretty original. And alliteration-ful.
Kind of a boring day today. 5-hour photo class where I printed some pictures of Dave sitting in a tree. He's such a good sport. Even though he said he would never normally get up in a tree to listen to his ipod. But if I had his tree I would do that all the time. You need to take advantage of a good tree like that..
I really can't wait for the semester to be over. And then YAY summer-time! I'll be able to actually get a new job where I can hopefully make some money. And then lots of hanging out with friends, and going to beaches, and concerts, and maybe Ryan and I can finally get to see eachother, which will make me smile, because he makes me smile.
Scary summer thought...*bathing suits* Oh no. Note-to-self: lose 20 pounds.
I need this shirt. Biblical humor, non-blasphemous. Funny.
And one for Dave, just because he loves Canada.
And I also need this one because it reminds me of Napolean Dynamite.
"Numbchuck skills, computer hacking skills..."
I usually don't like feet, but this is just a cool shot.
